JOSHUA M. BERNSTEIN

Joshua M. Bernstein is a Brooklyn-based beer, spirits, food and travel journalist, as well as a tour guide, event producer and industry consultant. Since 2000, he’s written for scores of newspapers, magazines and websites, including The New York Times, Bon Appétit, Men’s Journal, New York, Saveur, Wine Enthusiast and Imbibe, where he’s a contributing editor in charge of beer coverage. Bernstein is also the author of six books. In 2011, Sterling Epicure published Brewed Awakening, his deeply reported take on the global craft beer revolution. Sterling released his follow-up, The Complete Beer Course, in September 2013. It has sold more than 100,000 copies and been translated into international editions for China and South Korea. Sterling published Complete IPA, a chronicle of the worldwide spread of IPAs, in 2016, then released Homebrew World in 2018. Drink Better Beer was released by Sterling in fall 2019. In May 2023, Union Square & Co. will release the totally revised, tenth-anniversary edition of The Complete Beer Course.

BEN KEENE

Author of The Great Northeast Brewery Tour and a contributor to the award-winning Oxford Companion to Beer, Ben Keene is the former editorial director of BeerAdvocate, the single largest website devoted to the world of beer and brewing. During his tenure, articles published in BeerAdvocate magazine finished first and/or second in both the national reporting and the travel writing categories at the North American Guild of Beer Writers Awards three years in a row. A Cicerone Certified Beer Server and a Certified Cider Professional, Keene has judged beer at competitions across the United States and often speaks at industry conferences and conventions. He lives in Seattle and, as a former licensed outdoor guide, burns most of his beer calories hiking in Washington’s Cascade Range.

KATE BERNOT

Kate Bernot is a Missoula, Montana-based beverage reporter with more than a decade of newspaper, magazine, and digital publishing experience. Her work primarily appears in Good Beer Hunting, where she covers alcohol-beverage news, trends, and analysis for both consumer and trade audiences. She has also written for Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine, The New York Times, Imbibe, Chicago Magazine, America's Test Kitchen, Montana Quarterly, and more. Previously, she served as managing editor at The Takeout and beer editor at DRAFT Magazine; she also co-hosted a Montana-focused beer and travel TV show called Beermuda Triangle. Kate is a BJCP Certified Beer Judge, a Certified Cider Professional, and member of the leadership team for the North American Guild of Beer Writers. She has presented at the Craft Brewers Conference, Master Brewers Association events and at the Montana Pink Boots Society workshop. When she's not working, find her cooking, hiking, camping, river rafting, or wrangling her backyard chickens.
